What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are flexible, short-term training courses designed to fast-track individuals into new jobs in high-demand sectors. They can support employers to recruit new staff or to upskill existing staff for higher-level or emerging roles within their organisation.
Skills Bootcamps differ from Apprenticeships and other types of training due to their flexibility. The Skills Bootcamp curriculum is led by employers rather than an Awarding Organisation or Vendor, allowing it to be more flexible and targeted to employer needs.
Employers can engage with Skills Bootcamps in three ways:
- Hire a Skills Bootcamp Graduate for free by taking part in the guaranteed interviews scheme at the end of a Skills Bootcamp.
- Upskill existing staff for a small contribution, the remainder being paid by the UK Government via the relevant Local or Combined Authority.
- Inform the development of Skills Bootcamps to ensure they deliver on your organisation’s skills requirements.

Our Experience
iungo is an experienced provider of Skills Bootcamps. In 2021, we piloted Wales’ first Skills Bootcamps in the FinTech and Advanced Manufacturing Sectors, working in collaboration with Cardiff and Vale College and a range of employers including PwC, Principality Building Society, Admiral Plc and Inmation.
Since then, iungo has become a UK provider of Skills Bootcamps, holding national contracts with UK Governments and regional contracts with local and combined authorities including the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), Cardiff Capital Region, and Torfaen County Borough Council.
Over the years, we have optimised our Onion Skin Learning model to deliver a blend of industry knowledge, technical skills and work-ready behaviours for priority sectors such as Digital and Advanced Manufacturing. Our Skills Bootcamps are delivered at Levels 2 – 5 to provide multiple entry points for diverse talent.
The courses are developed in consultation with employers and funding partners to ensure relevance and transferability of skills. The majority of our Skills Bootcamp courses include either or both a regulated qualification or vendor certification to validate new skills learned.

Level 5 Skills Bootcamp in Lean Leadership with Power BI

Equip your managers with a crossfunctional superskill to transform your processes and increase organisational effectiveness. This bespoke programme, designed for site leaders, senior management and senior technical professionals, incorporates a CSSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, CSSC externally assessed project, and Power BI data pipeline training to maximise your organisation’s ability to make data-driven decisions.

Level 5 Skills Bootcamp in Data Engineering

The Data Engineering Skills Bootcamp is an advanced programme covering advanced statistical concepts, bespoke data visualisation and business intelligence reporting, and machine learning. Participants will complete a project set in the context of your organisation to enable them to gain data science experience, whilst acclimatising to your organisation and working practices. They will learn how to extract, transform and load data, architect and automate data pipelines and utilise Microsoft Power BI for business intelligence applications. Candidates will learn about key DDaT and Digital Standards to enable them to operate effectively within a data role in any sector.

Level 3 Skills Bootcamp in Advanced Manufacturing

Maximise your operational efficiency through our intensive Skills Bootcamp. This 10-week programme is engineered to fast-track your future employees, delivering immediate ROI through enhanced technical capability and process optimisation. Upon completion, your new operators will achieve both a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a WJEC Level 2 Award in Advanced Manufacturing (Semiconductors). This dual accreditation ensures your workforce possesses the rigorous quality standards and technical skills required to perform in their new roles.
Currently funded in Torfaen, Caerphilly and Newport Counties.
Level 2 Skills Bootcamp in Green and Sustainable Technologies

The Skills Bootcamp provides the perfect entry point into the world of green and sustainable technologies. This 10-week programme employs innovative methods of teaching and learning to support young people to develop practical and problem solving skills for real-world tasks. Over the course of the Skills Bootcamp, participants explore key technologies underpinning the Green Revolution and develop a Lego Smart City powered by table-top renewable technologies. This Skills Bootcamp is underwritten by the WJEC Level 2 Award in Sustainability in Action.
Currently funded in Cardiff via the King’s Trust.
