Level 4 Apprenticeship in Cyber Security

As organisations accelerate their digital transformation, the threat landscape has become increasingly complex, with a critical need for advanced security controls to protect digital assets. The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Cyber Security, underpinned by the Agored Cymru Level 4 Diploma, is a professional-grade programme designed to develop high-level technical specialists capable of defending your business against sophisticated cyber threats.

Advanced Technical Competencies

This 95-credit framework ensures your employee moves beyond junior support to take ownership of complex security operations:

  • Threat & Incident Management: Apprentices are trained to monitor and respond to cyber security threats and incidents, supporting vulnerability assessments to identify appropriate controls.
  • Infrastructure Defence: The curriculum covers the configuration and management of network security products and access controls to mitigate unauthorised compromise.
  • Risk & Governance: Your apprentice will master Information Security Risk Assessment and Information Governance and Assurance (18 credits), ensuring your organisation meets its legal and ethical data obligations.
  • Secure System Development: Training includes the Principles of Secure System Development, ensuring that security is embedded into your infrastructure from the outset.

Why invest in a Level 4 Cyber Security Apprentice?

This is the only Cyber Security Analyst pathway approved for Welsh Government funding, directly supporting the 2023 Cyber Action Plan for Wales to build a pipeline of high-level cyber talent.

Training Commitment: The framework requires a minimum of 355 on-the-job and 556 off-the-job training hours. This intensive blend ensures your staff develop the practical expertise required for professional Cyber Security Analyst roles.
