Assessment & Examinations Policy

Policy Principle

iungo Solutions is a multi-accredited centre providing learning programmes focused on digital and green skills. We hold a range of centre approvals that allow us to deliver regulated and professional qualifications for a UK market. Our expert tutors are also qualified assessors, supporting our participants to achieve their qualifications.

iungo also operates a Pearson Vue Authorised Test Centre, providing invigilated exams for hundreds of Vendors, including Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, CompTIA and the Project Management Institute. We offer the only end-to-end Train & Test service in Wales, operating from our Cardiff Delivery Centre.

The purpose of this Policy is to outline the process for assessments and examinations, so that you know what to expect from us, and what you need to do in order to successfully achieve your qualification or certification.

For the purposes of this Policy, we use the term “Award” to refer to all qualifications or certifications associated with our learning programmes.

Awarding Entries

To be entered for an Award, you must attain at least 80% attendance and complete all required assessment and/or progress tasks set by your tutor.

Requesting Award Entry

If your attendance is below 80% you may request to be considered for entry onto your chosen Award by outlining your case to awarding@iungo.solutions. In your email, you must include at least the following:

  • an explanation of why your attendance rate fell below 80%, including any relevant evidence to support your case;
  • details of how you have kept abreast of the workload on your learning programme, including any relevant evidence to support your case;
  • details of any additional support you will require to undertake your assessment or examination;
  • a reference from your tutor to support your case to be entered (optional).

You cannot request Award Entry if you have failed to complete the required assessments and/or progress tasks set by your tutor. However, you may follow the extenuating circumstances process.

Assessments

Assessment Methods

iungo aims to use a range of assessment methods to promote high quality evidence collection and positive outcomes for participants.

Depending on your chosen qualification, you may be assessed through coursework, professional discussion, project work, presentation or work-based evidence, or a combination of these. Assessment methods may be prescribed by the Awarding Organisation, but in any case, iungo will confirm the assessments employed in your chosen qualification.

In some cases, there may be some flexibility to select your preferred assessment method(s). If you require additional support to complete your assessments, please follow our Participant Experience & Accessibility Policy.

Timescales

Deadlines

Your tutor will set deadlines for your assessments. It is important that you strictly comply with the deadlines set to ensure that your work is eligible to be assessed and claimed through the awarding organisation.

Marking

You can expect to receive your marked assessment within 2 weeks of the deadline set, provided that you submitted your assessments on time. Late assessments will not be marked.

Internal Quality Assurance

Once your final assessment submission has been marked, it will be quality assured by a designated Internal Quality Assurer (IQA). This process takes up to 1 week to complete.

Refer to the Quality Assurance Procedure for further information.

Claims

If your final assessment submission is judged to be a Pass, and the IQA upholds your decision, the qualification will be claimed within 1 week. Please note, Awarding Organisations set their own time limits for processing qualification claims, but you should expect to wait up to 6 weeks to receive your official certificate.

Feedback

You will receive feedback per assessment, in the form of an Assessment Feedback Report. The report will indicate which criteria you have successfully achieved, and any that have not been achieved. In all cases, you will be provided with constructive feedback to support your development.

Smaller qualifications may only contain one assessment, whereas larger qualifications may contain multiple (modular) assessments.

Resubmissions

You are entitled to one resubmission per assessment. You may seek feedback and guidance from your tutor before making your resubmission. No further resubmissions will be accepted.

Plagiarism & Malpractice

Any assessment submission that contains plagiarism or evidence of any other form of malpractice will be returned to you without marking or constructive feedback. This will count as one submission.

Refer to our Maladministration and Malpractice Policy for further detail.

Examinations

Examination Methods

Certifications are assessed via an invigilated (proctored) examination. If your Award includes an examination, you will be required to undertake this at our test centre.

Timescales

Upon completion of your learning programme, and provided you have met the Awarding Entries requirements, you will  be scheduled to take your exam. You should expect to receive confirmation of your exam date within 1 week of completion. For typical lead times for your programme, please refer to Appendix A.

Your exam must be taken within 3 months of the end date of your learning programme. Requests to take an exam after the 3 month window will not be permitted.

Rescheduling your exam

If you have to change your exam date for any reason, you may do so by emailing awarding@iungo.solutions. Please note, we only allow exams to be rescheduled once, so please check your availability before committing to your exam slot.

Sharing your exam result

By undertaking a learning programme with us, you consent to sharing your exam result and score/grade with us. This information helps us to continually review and improve the effectiveness of our learning programmes.

If you have received funding towards your learning programme, you will be required to share a copy of your certificate with us.

Exam location

The location of your examination will be iungo’s test centre based in the Cardiff Business Technology Centre, Senghennydd Road, Cardiff, CF24 4AY.

For national and international clients, it may be possible to arrange for your examination to be proctored online. Please contact awarding@iungo.solutions or call 02922 805961 to discuss this option.

Please note, requests for online proctored exams by funded participants will not be accepted unless you are located more than 80 miles away from the test centre location.
