
ReAct+ Funding in Wales
Funding to support people who have been made redundant, or have recently been released from prison to access training to re-enter the workplace.
ReAct+ Funding
The ReAct+ programe is a specific support package for individuals over the age of 20 who are facing or have recently experienced redundancy and those that have recently been released from prison or are serving a community sentence.
ReAct+ funding provides a tailored package of support to eligible individuals worth up to £3,800. Engaging with ReAct+ as an employer could help you to tap into hidden talent pools with £4,000 in financial support available to onboard and upskill your new employee.

Who its for
ReAct+ funding is tailored specifically to the individual and their situation. All support is designed to help the individual get back into employment in the shortest time possible.
ReAct+ provides a grant of up to £1,500 to help eligible individuals get the relevant skills needed to re-enter the workforce. Furthermore, ReAct+ can also provide up to £200 towards additional costs during training, including travel and accommodation, and up to £2,100 to help cover childcare/caring during training.
Individuals
To be eligible for ReAct+ support you must be aged 20 or over, be a resident in Wales and have a right to live and work in the UK.
You must also meet one of the criteria below:
- are an ex-offender or an offender serving a community sentence
- are under formal notice of redundancy or
- your job has been made redundant in the last 6 months or
Employers
As an employer, your new roles may be eligible for a £4,000 ReAct+ subsidy if you hire a ReAct Plus approved candidate. For the role to be eligible, it must meet the following criteria.
- Not be paid for by other government funding
- Be for at least 16 hours a week
- Pay at least the national minimum wage
- Must be expected to last for at least 12 months
To ensure that your organisation qualifies for the subsidy, you must not engage the candidate before their support package has been approved. The candidate must also not have worked for 6 weeks or more since their redundancy and before they start working for you.

Please note, you will need to apply for the funding by making an appointment with Working Wales (part of Careers Wales). You will not be able to start training until your ReAct+ funding is approved.
