Key Details

The PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner qualification validates expert capability in tailoring and applying PRINCE2 governance within agile delivery environments. Aimed at experienced project managers, agile coaches, and delivery leads, this course focuses on balancing project control with iterative execution, managing fixed and flexible project elements, and maintaining business focus. Upskilling your project leads to PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner standard ensures your organisation can manage complex agile projects without sacrificing corporate governance. It gives senior management assurance that agile initiatives remain accountable, risk-managed, and tightly aligned with organisational strategies and customer needs.

  • Module 1: Tailoring PRINCE2 Principles and Agile Behaviours – Focuses on the practical application of PRINCE2 principles within agile environments, evaluating risk through the Agilometer, and embedding core agile behaviours like transparency and self-organisation.
  • Module 2: Applying and Tailoring PRINCE2 Practices – Demonstrates how to adapt core management practices—including Business Case, Risk, Quality, and Progress—using ‘fix and flex’ performance tolerances to suit iterative delivery dynamics.
  • Module 3: Executing PRINCE2 Processes in an Agile Environment – Guides the practical application and tailoring of stage-gate processes, steering lifecycle activities, managing product delivery, and directing projects within flexible framework environments.
  • Module 4: Managing Agile Focus Areas and Delivery Frameworks – Explores scenario-based tailoring of essential focus areas, including requirement prioritisation, rich communication techniques, agile contracts, and integration with Scrum and Kanban frameworks.

Candidates engage in continuous formative evaluation throughout the course, utilising scenario-driven practice exams, case study analyses, and interactive knowledge checks to reinforce practical application. Summative assessment is conducted via an official, 2.5-hour (150-minute) open-book examination based on a complex project scenario, consisting of 50 objective testing questions. Candidates must achieve a score of 60% (30 out of 50 marks) or higher to demonstrate advanced competency and gain Practitioner certification.

Achieving Practitioner status accelerates progression into high-impact leadership roles such as Senior Agile Project Manager, Hybrid Delivery Lead, Transformation Lead, or PMO Director across public and private sectors. Candidates are exceptionally positioned to direct cross-functional delivery ecosystems and can seamlessly transition towards strategic programme and portfolio credentials, including Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) or Management of Portfolios (MoP®). Additionally, this credential provides an excellent foundation for post-candidate studies in executive project management.

Candidates must hold an active prerequisite qualification, such as PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation, PRINCE2® Foundation, PRINCE2® Practitioner, or an accredited credential like PMP®, CAPM®, or IPMA®. Applicants without formal credentials who possess extensive practical leadership experience in agile project environments or operational delivery may apply via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). A comprehensive understanding of general project lifecycle management and hybrid delivery concepts is strongly advised.
