Key Details

The PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation certification introduces the integration of PRINCE2 governance with flexible agile delivery concepts. Geared towards project managers, product owners, and team leads working in dynamic environments, this course covers core PRINCE2 principles alongside agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban. Candidates learn how structure and flexibility co-exist to support iterative product delivery. Equipping your personnel with PRINCE2 Agile Foundation enables your organisation to combine structured project oversight with agile adaptability. This ensures improved time-to-market, enhanced team collaboration, and controlled management of changing business priorities.

  • Module 1: Agile Mindset and Ways of Working – Introduces core Agile principles, key frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, and fundamental delivery techniques including user stories, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Module 2: PRINCE2 Governance and Agile Behaviours – Explores how PRINCE2 governance interfaces with Agile delivery environments, focusing on core principles and essential Agile behaviours like transparency, collaboration, and self-organisation.
  • Module 3: Tailoring PRINCE2 Practices and Performance Tolerances – Details how to adapt management practices—including business case, risk, quality, and progress—while applying ‘fix and flex’ performance tolerances.
  • Module 4: PRINCE2 Processes and Agile Focus Areas – Guides the application of project lifecycle processes in an Agile context, covering critical focus areas such as the Agilometer, requirements management, and rich communication.

Candidates engage with continuous formative assessments throughout the course, including interactive knowledge checks and practical scenario exercises to track progress and reinforce key concepts. Summative evaluation is conducted via an official, invigilated 60-minute closed-book examination comprising 50 multiple-choice questions. Candidates must achieve a score of 50% (25 out of 50) or higher to demonstrate foundational competence and earn their certification.

Achieving Foundation status provides the mandatory prerequisite for advancing directly to the PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner qualification, enabling candidates to build advanced application and tailoring skills. Candidates are well-positioned to transition into roles such as Agile Project Coordinator, PMO Assistant, Junior Delivery Manager, or Project Support Officer. Furthermore, this qualification provides a strong stepping stone toward broader project, programme, and portfolio management frameworks such as Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®).

There are no formal academic or professional prerequisites required to enrol in this foundational course, making it accessible to newcomers and experienced professionals alike. Candidates lacking formal qualifications are welcomed through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), drawing upon lived workplace experience in project administration, operations, or team coordination. A foundational awareness of general business environments and project delivery workflows is recommended to gain maximum benefit.
