Key Details
The PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation & Practitioner combined package provides a complete learning pathway for managing projects using structured agile frameworks. Tailored for project managers, business leaders, and technical managers, this combined course covers everything from basic agile-governance principles to real-world execution and tailoring. Certifying your project leads to this dual standard equips your business with flexible delivery capabilities backed by rigorous project controls. This allows your teams to adapt quickly to evolving market demands, reduce project delivery timelines, and maintain strict accountability across all project phases.
- Module 1: Agile Mindset and Ways of Working – Introduces core Agile principles, key frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, and fundamental delivery techniques including user stories, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Module 2: PRINCE2 Governance and Agile Behaviours – Explores how PRINCE2 governance interfaces with Agile delivery environments, focusing on core principles and essential Agile behaviours like transparency, collaboration, and self-organisation.
- Module 3: Tailoring PRINCE2 Practices and Performance Tolerances – Details how to adapt management practices—including business case, risk, quality, and progress—while applying ‘fix and flex’ performance tolerances.
- Module 4: PRINCE2 Processes and Agile Focus Areas – Guides the application of project lifecycle processes in an Agile context, covering critical focus areas such as the Agilometer, requirements management, and rich communication.
- Module 5: Tailoring PRINCE2 Principles and Agile Behaviours – Focuses on the practical application of PRINCE2 principles within agile environments, evaluating risk through the Agilometer, and embedding core agile behaviours like transparency and self-organisation.
- Module 6: Applying and Tailoring PRINCE2 Practices – Demonstrates how to adapt core management practices—including Business Case, Risk, Quality, and Progress—using ‘fix and flex’ performance tolerances to suit iterative delivery dynamics.
- Module 7: Executing PRINCE2 Processes in an Agile Environment – Guides the practical application and tailoring of stage-gate processes, steering lifecycle activities, managing product delivery, and directing projects within flexible framework environments.
- Module 8: Managing Agile Focus Areas and Delivery Frameworks – Explores scenario-based tailoring of essential focus areas, including requirement prioritisation, rich communication techniques, agile contracts, and integration with Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
Candidates participate in continuous formative evaluations throughout the course, engaging with interactive knowledge checks and practical scenario exercises to track progress. Summative evaluation is conducted via two official invigilated examinations: a 60-minute, closed-book multiple-choice exam for the Foundation stage, and a 2.5-hour, open-book objective testing exam based on a complex scenario for the Practitioner level. Candidates must achieve a score of 50% on the Foundation exam and 60% on the Practitioner exam to secure dual certification.
Achieving dual Foundation and Practitioner status accelerates career advancement into high-impact roles such as Senior Agile Project Manager, Hybrid Delivery Lead, PMO Manager, or Transformation Consultant. Candidates possess the practical expertise to lead cross-functional delivery teams and seamlessly transition into strategic programme or portfolio management qualifications, such as Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) or Management of Portfolios (MoP®). Additionally, this credential provides a strong benchmark for entry into executive post-candidate qualifications in strategic project leadership.
There are no formal academic prerequisites required to enrol in this combined programme, making it accessible to aspiring project leaders and experienced professionals alike. Candidates without formal credentials are welcomed through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), drawing upon lived workplace experience in project support, administration, or operational delivery. A foundational understanding of corporate environments and project delivery workflows is recommended to gain maximum value from the course.
