Starting with a Level 2 Award in Games Design and Development is your essential foundation!

The main next step is usually a Level 3 Extended Diploma in the field. This qualification is crucial, as it’s the standard entry requirement for University Degrees (BSc/BA) or HNDs where you’ll specialize in Programming, Art, or Design.

Alternatively, you can jump straight into a Level 3 Apprenticeship or land an entry-level job like a Games Tester. In either case, your focus must be continuously building a strong personal portfolio to show off your skills to potential employers.

Thanks to funding from the Adult Skills Fund, via Learn Devon, Devon County Council and the UK Government, this course is free if you meet the following criteria.

  • Aged 19-23
  • Living in North Devon or Torridge area
  • Not achieved a full level 3 qualification (e.g. A Levels)
