The Foundry promises to be a “game-changer” for the Games Development Industry in Wales and a life-changing and career-defining experience for those who attend.
GDFW is the place to start your career in Gaming Sector. Whether by joining a Studio preparing to become a freelancer or entrepreneur, GDFW provides a variety of skills interventions for all experience levels. The three core phases of GDFW are Programming for Games Development, Specialist Tracks for Games Design and Games Development, and Games Entrepreneurship.
We are proud to have supported Career Returners, Career Switchers, Graduates and New Studios in GDFW’s first year of operation.
Semiconductor Skills Foundry Wales
The Semiconductor Skills Foundry Wales (SSFW), led by iungo Solutions, is an flagship upskilling initiative backed by the semiconductor industry and funded by Innovate UK. By partnering with organisations including CS Connected, WJEC, Coleg y Cymoedd, and Cardiff Commitment, SSFW is developing the critical infrastructure to support the development of talent for the Semiconductor Supply Chain. SSFW is focussed on developing a pipeline of Higher Technicians to plug skills gaps and enable the Semiconductor Cluster achieve its ambitious growth projections. The Semiconductor Skills Academy Wales is committed to delivering highly-skilled talent to the whole Semiconductor Supply Chain in Wales, not just the OEMs.
Step2: Funded Learning for Unemployed
Step2 provides a range of entry-level learning programmes for people who are short-term unemployed (less than 12 months) and ready to learn in-demand Digital & Green Skills and step back into work and into their new career. Step2 provides an opportunity for people to venture into fast-growth sectors such as FinTech, MedTech, and Games Development and learn valuable skills for Data Analytics, Software Development and Business Improvement. All of our Step2 participants are guaranteed an interview with a local employer upon completion of their programme. Our Step2 programmes are supported by Welsh Government via the ReAct Plus Scheme and funding can cover up to the full amount of the programme.
