Develop your programming skills in C# and learn to develop 2D games in Unity, the world’s most popular gaming engine. In this module, you’ll build new worlds and optimise the game’s code. You’ll practise pair programming and collaborative software development using a range of professional tools and software packages.
During this programme, you will learn how to interface with the Unity editor and create a character script. You will create obstacles, items, and trackable game statistics and learn how to create 2D assets and animate them within Unity.
This programme provides a comprehensive introduction to interface design principles and implementation of UI elements. You will learn how to write and optimise game code in the Unity gaming engine.
There are no formal entry requirements for this programme. An interest in gaming and/or programming or graphic design/animation would be beneficial.

The cost of attending this programme is £1,500. If you are unemployed, you may be able to access funding to attend this programme from Welsh Government via the ReAct Plus scheme.
To be eligible for ReAct Plus you must be:
- aged 18 years or above
- have the Right to Work in UK
- living in Wales
- under formal notice of redundancy or
- been made redundant or unemployed within the last 12 months or
- be aged 18-24 and not in education, employment or training
Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria are entitled to a Training Allowance of up to £1,500 (paid to the Training Provider), a Childcare Allowance of up to £4,450 (paid to the Childcare Provider), a Barriers fund of up to £300 for travel and sustenance (paid to the individual), and a further £500 for additional support tailored to meet the individual’s needs.
